Prosegur Cash extends its foreign exchange operations in Australia
It is to open three offices at Gold Coast Airport in the Australian state of Queensland. Of these, two will be located in the new international terminal and one in the domestic terminal. All branches will be operational by early 2023.
Madrid, 20 December 2022 – Prosegur Cash, which recently announced its acquisition of ChangeGroup, the world's third largest operator in the retail currency exchange sector, has entered into an agreement to offer a range of currency exchange services in the new international terminal at Gold Coast Airport in the Australian state of Queensland. As part of its strategy to develop and grow currency exchange transactions in the region, the company will operate under the name of Prosegur Change in Australia.
Prosegur Change's branches offer foreign currency exchange in over 50 currencies, while multi-currency ATMs can dispense up to three major currencies. The company's offering includes a wide range of premium services, such as travel cash, international bank transfers and buyback cover, along with concessionaire banking services to assist other airport operators. In addition, Prosegur Change sales agents are available to travellers to offer them a first-class specialised service and help them with any queries.

Australia's Gold Coast Airport has recently opened its new international terminal and the incorporation of Prosegur Change's currency exchange know-how will help the airport consolidate its wide range of services. Around one million international passengers and 5.5 million domestic travellers are expected to pass through the airport in 2023. As a result of the agreement, Prosegur Change will open three offices at the airport, two in the new international terminal and one in the domestic terminal. All branches will open their doors at the beginning of 2023 and 25 new jobs will be created. In addition to the Gold Coast, the company offers currency exchange services at Melbourne Airport.
