Madrid, July 19, 2024. Prosegur Change, the foreign exchange subsidiary of Prosegur Cash, has begun offering currency trading services at Singapore’s  Changi International Airport, considered the best airport in Asia in 2023, with more than 67 million passengers a year, connecting Singapore with 154 cities in 49 countries around the world through 93 airlines, and the second best in the world in 2024, according to the awards granted by Skytrax.

Prosegur Change branches offer foreign exchange in more than 50 currencies, while multi-currency ATMs can dispense up to three major currencies. In the case of Changi International Airport, the company's branch offerings include an exchange of up to 80 currencies, along with a wide range of premium services such as travel cash, international bank transfers and repurchase cover, plus dealer banking services to assist other airport operators. Prosegur Forex sales agents are on hand 24 hours a day to offer travelers a first-class specialist service and assist them with any queries.

With the opening of the 18 new branches spread across Changi International Airport's four terminals, Prosegur Change now has up to 200 foreign exchange branches worldwide, with plans to increase the number by 2024. In addition, the expansion of its operations in the Asia-Pacific country will generate the creation of more than one hundred jobs. This speed of growth positions the business as an important network of offices in areas of great tourist affluence in countries such as Spain, Germany, the United Kingdom and Australia.

Ignacio Cea, Prosegur Cash's Global Director of New Businesses, said: “This initiative represents a significant step towards financial inclusion and demonstrates Prosegur Cash's commitment to the development of innovative solutions that not only respond to current market needs, but also respect the environment and promote sustainability”.

Changi International Airport handles a passenger flow of more than 67 million people each year, and operates 93 airlines with 6,700 weekly scheduled flights, connecting Singapore with 154 cities in 49 countries and territories around the world. Prosegur Cash will therefore once again set a milestone in its growth in foreign exchange activity, at a time when Asia-Pacific air traffic levels are on an upward trajectory.

LEADERSHIP CONSOLIDATED IN 2024

Cea highlights Prosegur Change consolidation this year, with the opening of its foreign exchange services at Wellington International Airport, New Zealand's second largest and busiest airport. "We are delighted to start operating with Prosegur Forex in a region that has faced major challenges in recent years and is recovering rapidly. In addition, both operations reinforce the development of our New Products area, a key element of our company's transformation and diversification strategy."

The company has three branches at Wellington International Airport, operational since February 2024, offering foreign currency exchange in more than 50 currencies, and has also created a dozen jobs.

With the start of operations in Singapore and New Zealand, Prosegur Change now operates in 17 countries and 20 major international airports, demonstrating its leadership in the cash management and financial services sector and its ongoing commitment to innovation, security and social responsibility, designing solutions that make a significant difference to people's lives.
